Seniors Nearing Retirement

It seems practically absurd for Seniors to think about retirement as the next phase in their long and eventful lives.

But! it does become has become a reality.
As the seniors generation moves into their mid fifties and sixties, that specter of retirement comes ever closer.

So it`s practical to sit back and review our futures and what that means to each of us.

For many, the traditional focus toward retirement has been one of expectations.

The idea of laying down your fears and bringing your work life to a end is something to look eagerly forward to.

The idea of a life of sleeping late, travel as much as and as oftenyou wish, taking up golf or some other hobbies and living a life of pleasure is an ideal situation in our minds.

But the reality of approaching retirement can also be a source of worry and fear.

If the senior who approaches that that time is not financially able and there affairs and concerns of their work lives are not ready to be put aside,

the idea of having to retire due to age seems to be a hard and an unpleasant task.

In both of these visions of a early retirement, we are probably thinking under as much myth as we are ready for as to what it will be like to retire.
But one thing seniors are good at is abandoning myths and defying conventional ideas and defining each era of their lives on their own terms.

We can expect the same as seniors move on to retirement.

there's is a generation that did not have the advantage of employers who were faithful to employees and kept the same employers from college through their retirement party and from whom they could expect a hefty retirement package.

But seniors today are not the kind of generation that lets things get past them.

Using such excellent organizations as AARP, there are many options seniors can tap into to create a better financial future despite the lack of entry by past employers.

Retirement Gifts ,for friends and co workers

The working person would sooner or later have to step down on the given task that he or she has been accustomed to. The work that has evolved into a job and eventually blossomed into a career became a part of the working person's lifestyle. Definitely, when that fateful day of ceasing the intended work arrives, the person would at least want to have something memorable to take home and be a reminder of all the years that passed. Retirement gifts would be the perfect thing to have. This would definitely be more than just money's worth.

Overview

There are many types of retirement gifts which reflect the manner of career the retiring person has experienced. These are then categorized in different manners according to the characteristic of its presentation.

A way to categorize retirement gifts is the industry from which the retiree came from.

May it be bad or good, the affinity of a retirement gift would be much more valuable if the gift itself is a manifestation of the work that was rendered service. For example, retiring army personnel would probably want to keep something which is related to the army. A doctor who is about to formally end his practice in the medical profession would most likely want to have a recognition party or perhaps a medically related thing with his name engraved on it to let everyone know that he was once part of the medical practice profession.

A retirement gift comes in two categories: A thing or something non tangible. The former may be a memento, memorabilia, plaque of recognition, trophy, or any other thing which may be kept and be shown to others to signify and indicate the retiree's service to a specific business endeavor. The latter is more of a one time event, but still eternal nonetheless such as a commemorative party, celebration or public salutation to let everyone know of the finished task. A combination of both would actually be better to fully complete the acknowledgement of a person's service and thus would make that person feel at worth.

Retirement gifts could also be categorized either as commercial or personal. Most would probably think that a personally created retirement gift would be more memorable and valuable, but a commercially acquired or created retirement gift would also hold the same amount of sentimental value to the retiree. In this case, commercial retirement gift such as pre-set parties or merchandise like a watch or the like could be imparted with the same amount of value by engraving the identity of the retiree onto it. The manner of "personalizing" a retirement gift transforms a commercially created gift into a personal one.

The Value

Retirement gifts should not be expensive though as the value is not equated to the amount of money that was spent in allowing it to manifest. The important thing in giving out retirement gifts is the amount of love and care that was put into getting it. Even if it would just be a small token or a simple party, the manner of how it would be presented is much more heartfelt.

Besides, the retirement gift's effect on the retiree's self esteem will not end after the actual presentation. As long as the retirement gift is remembered, all the work experience and the value to which it was done throughout the years will keep the retiree summoned up and eternally reminisced.

Awesome To Kill an American...

Written by an Australian Dentist .I had to post this

You probably missed this in the rush of news, but there was actually a report that someone in Pakistan had published in a newspaper, an offer of a reward to anyone who killed an American, any American.

So an Australian dentist wrote an editorial the following day to let everyone know what an American is. So they would know when they found one. (Good one, mate!!!!)

'An American is English, or French, or Italian, Irish, German, Spanish, Polish, Russian or Greek. An American may also be Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Australian, Iranian, Asian, or Arab, or Pakistani or Afghan.

An American may also be a Comanche, Cherokee, Osage, Blackfoot, Navaho, Apache, Seminole or one of the many other tribes known as native Americans.

An American is Christian, or he could be Jewish, or Buddhist, or Muslim. In fact, there are more Muslims in America than in Afghanistan . The only difference is that in America they are free to worship as each of them chooses.

An American is also free to believe in no religion. For that he will answer only to God, not to the government, or to armed thugs claiming to speak for the government and for God.
An American lives in the most prosperous land in the history of the world.
The root of that prosperity can be found in the Declaration of Independence , which recognizes the God given right of each person to the pursuit of happiness..

An American is generous. Americans have helped out just about every other nation in the world in their time of need, never asking a thing in return.

When Afghanistan was over-run by the Soviet army 20 years ago, Americans came with arms and supplies to enable the people to win back their country!

As of the morning of September 11, Americans had given more than any other nation to the poor in Afghanistan .
The national symbol of America , The Statue of Liberty , welcomes your tired and your poor, the wretched refuse of your teeming shores, the homeless, tempest tossed. These in fact are the people who built America.

Some of them were working in the Twin Towers the morning of September 11, 2001 earning a better life for their families. It's been told that the World Trade Center victims were from at least 30 different countries, cultures, and first languages, including those that aided and abetted the terrorists.
So you can try to kill an American if you must. Hitler did. So did General Tojo, and Stalin, and Mao Tse-Tung, and other blood-thirsty tyrants in the world. But, in doing so you would just be killing yourself. Because Americans are not a particular people from a particular place.. They are the embodiment of the human spirit of freedom. Everyone who holds to that spirit, everywhere, is an American.

Please keep this going!
Pass this around the World.
Then pass it around again.

It says it all, for all of us Please do not just delete. Pass it on first.

Thanks!

GET YOUR FREE 25 BUCKS

!

Hello!

I have discovered a new site that is similar to the leading online Payment processor site, and they are giving away FREE money! (How can they afford to do this? Well this company is owned and funded by one of the founders of AOL. Need I say more?) To avoid spamming, this offer is by invitation only, so please finish reading this information and then click the link at the bottom to email me and I will send you your invitation. Once you have registered with legitimate information, you will be credited your $25.

(I STRONGLY suggest that you use a good reliable email account and request the invitation from there. Some people have had trouble getting the invites with some email providers)

You can then choose to withdraw the funds to your bank account, request a check be sent to you, or let it sit there until you need it. The choice is up to you. I only requested $20 the first time because there is a check fee of $2.50 and I wanted to keep the other $2.50 so I would have something left in the account. You can request the whole $25 if you want, but you will have a negative balance in your account if you do so.

That's it! There is no catch, and you don't have to pay a dime! In addition to your $25, you get paid $10 for each person that you refer, just like I'm doing now!

This offer expires March 31, 2008 ..

IMPORTANT!! You must be at least 18 years of age and a resident of the United States to be eligible.

To get your invite, just send an email to : Stargrams@gmail.com
and put "FREE 25 Bucks" in the subject line.

Seniors Discover the benefits of excerise

For the elderly, exercise is not just about looking good but is also important for living a longer, healthier life. There are the added bonuses of losing those extra pounds, improving the circulation and health of your heart, increasing mobility and of course feeling much stronger, that all contribute to making seniors exercise routines an absolute necessity.Anyone who begins exercising will see many benefits, but for seniors it really is the key to a whole new lease on life. As people get older they tend to become less active and added to the natural degeneration of strength from aging, many senior citizens feel very weak, lethargic, sore in the joints and muscles and suffer from circulation related health problems. When they begin a routine of senior exercise daily they will feel like a new person! After just a week of seniors exercise you will feel a sense of being a little stronger, and week by week this will grow as your muscles lengthen and you become leaner. Walking will again be an easy and relaxing task and your whole quality of life and mobility will increase, making you feel young again. Your confidence will increase accordingly; depression will be alleviated as you find a constant feeling of wellbeing to be your new mindset. Senior exercise is the best way to stimulate endorphins in the brain which are often likened to a natural antidepressant. Even if you are having a bad day, go to the gym and leave feeling happy, fresh and able to tackle any problems. The idea behind seniors exercise is to keep it simple, flowing and safe for everyone of all fitness levels. Don't be put off by thoughts about it being too difficult because anyone can do it to some extent. The more regularly you practice, your coordination, flexibility and fitness will improve, making any initial embarrassments completely worth it. The truth is that everyone is so busy trying to do the workout themselves, no one has any time to bother watching what everyone else is doing, and everyone has to start somewhere. A senior's exercise class does not include movements like jumping, over-stretching or anything complicated or jolting. The idea is to have constant movement that is gentle on the joints but still raises and maintains the heart rate. This is the point in aerobic exercise where you will burn calories, increase flexibility and improve muscle strength. For those who have aching joints because of diabetes or arthritis, seniors exercise workouts will benefit you. The best starting point for you would be water aerobics held in warm hydrotherapy pools designed to relax the muscles and workout while feeling weightless. As long as you get the all clear from your doctor, seniors, start exercising straight away at least five times a week. Start slow and increase the amounts and pace as you progress. You will never regret it, and you can always improve how you feel by starting with a regular walk from right now! Notice how good you feel afterwards, and find out when you can visit your local fitness center for a chat.

Alzheimer's Disease is the most common form of dementia

Did you know that It is a condition that affects the neurological health of an afflicted patient and is a degenerative disease of the brain from which presently, there is no recovery with over 4 Million Americans suffering from this dementia. The illness is devastating and robs both the sufferer and also their family and friends of treasured moments.

Alzheimers is equally one of the most emotionally draining and traumatic conditions for both sufferer and family alike. Memory loss is the distinguishing factor in all Alzheimer's cases.

However, in the early stages it can be difficult to detect as people often devise elaborate coping mechanisms that disguise their symptoms. Recent memories are the first to be affected. It is only as the Alzheimers condition progresses that more distant memories become affected. Short term memory refers to the brain's mechanism for storage of recent events or things learned. The duration for things stored in a brain's short term memory can be as little as hours or as long as a week or two. It is this recent storage capacity that causes initial difficulty for people with Alzheimer's.

Disorientation, for example, not knowing who or where you are or what day month it is, is a very common symptom of Alzheimer's disease. It is also thought of as one of the defining early symptoms as it is very closed connected with a person's memory or ability to remember. Insignificant things disappear first, and usually so gradually that it's not noted by family or friends for weeks or even months .
